My Journey with Ansaar Foundation – Junayed Malek

My introduction to Ansaar Foundation came through a kind elder who invited me to help feed the homeless. The year was 2016 Alhamdulillah, that first experience was deeply moving—it reminded me just how much we often take for granted.

Our second outing took place on Eid. This time, I brought along youth from our community, hoping they’d witness the reality behind the statistics we so often hear. They saw, up close, how challenges like mental health and addiction can lead to homelessness. What left the deepest impression on all of us was seeing a young Muslim girl standing in line for food with her father—on Eid, a day that’s supposed to be filled with joy. She was waiting to collect food for her family, and in that moment, the true meaning of compassion and community hit home.

These experiences didn’t just offer support to those in need—they transformed us as well. They reminded us, especially our youth, to pause, reflect, and realign our intentions amidst the rush of daily life. May we never lose sight of our blessings.
