ADOPT A FAMILY
Adopt a Family, in partnership with Thorncliffe Residents Group, launched in 2020 to provide vital support to single mothers, seniors, and families-in-need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, we are proud to announce that we have already extended our assistance to over 5,760 family members through the distribution of Food Hampers. These hampers contain culturally-conscious, nutritious food staples, ensuring that families have access to essential items such as flour, rice, oil, lentils, sugar, pasta, vegetables, and other necessities. We prioritize the anonymity of the recipients and provide them with literature on additional resources offered by the Ansaar Foundation.
In addition to the Food Hampers, we have also provided Eid Packages and monthly supplies to these families. These Eid Packages include home goods, treats, and supplies, bringing joy and relief to families during important occasions and meeting their ongoing needs.
Your support is crucial in expanding our reach and making a difference in the lives of even more families. By donating today, you can help us extend our assistance beyond the current number of beneficiaries and provide relief to those facing food insecurity. Many of these families consist of vulnerable individuals, including children and seniors, who rely on our support and generosity.
Together, we can make a positive change. Donate now to Adopt a Family and help us increase our reach, ensuring that no family is left behind. Your generosity will inspire others to join this noble cause, creating a stronger and more compassionate community.
FEEDING THE HOMELESS
Ansaar Foundation’s monthly homeless feeding programs benefited more than 1500 individuals facing food insecurity in Toronto and Hamilton. With increased need across the province, Ansaar Foundation extended its programming to Hamilton. In Toronto, more than 700 individuals were served with hot meals, and more than 300 meals distributed in Hamilton.
Food distributions occur on the second Saturdays of the month at a location near local shelters and warming centers. Beneficiaries learn of Ansaar Foundation distributions by word of mouth. Ansaar Foundation recognizes the importance of providing community members who are experiencing homelessness with warm, nutritious, culturally-appropriate food. We partner with local restaurants to create hot meal packs to distribute around shelters, encampments, and densely populated hubs. Each food packet includes masks, hand sanitizers, cutlery, Halal or vegetarian meal in disposable packaging, a drink, and other items donated by the local community.
To help support these food distributions, please donate.

SHELTER SUPPORT
Ansaar Foundation provides weekly meals to Dr. Roz’s Healing Place, a Women Shelter in Toronto where 850 women are served on a weekly basis.
Shelters have faced record numbers of intakes and have at the same time been forced to reduce capacity. Ansaar Foundation is committed to helping shelters increase capacity by providing resources and meals when needed.

MEALS FOR SENIORS
Ansaar Foundation partnered with Saffron Hub Inc. and Pariwaar Restaurant to provide weekly Halal meals to seniors across the GTA for four months this year to counter isolation, food insecurity and malnutrition.
Ansaar Foundation Staff coordinated the distribution of more than 640 meals. Each week, our partners would prepare healthy and nutritious meals including chicken biryani, butter chicken, daal, roti, rice, salad & raita. Meals were delivered to the seniors’ doorsteps.
Every week, Ansaar Foundation received calls and emails from community members thanking them for the meals they received.

IFTAR IN A BOX
For Muslims across the globe, the Holy Month of Ramadan is a time of reflection, gratitude and community building.
Ansaar Foundation hosted its Annual Iftar in a Box, a new initiative organized in the city of Toronto to help Muslims break their fasts. More than 700 boxes distributed was organized on April 6th, 2023 in Cornell Rouge Public School to observe the breaking of fast. Overall, 4228 boxes were distributed in the holy month of Ramadaan. For Muslims, acts of charity are said to increase in blessings for the coming year.
We distributed Qurbani meat to needy and homeless individuals and families. In addition, we dispersed over 15000$ in Zakat Fitra and Fidya.
