Adopt A Family

Adopt a Family is an Ansaar Foundation initiative to provide food security to seniors, single parents and families in need. We hope to support these groups of families by providing them food provisions that would last them a month. We have identified families in the Thorncliffe Park area and other neighbourhoods who are in dire need especially during these times of COVID where bringing food to the table has been a challenge for many. By supporting these families over a period of six months or a year, you be alleviating their uncertainty and anxiety so that they can focus on other issues such as looking for work or other social or medical needs. Many of these families have children and seniors who are relying on your support and generosity. Please reach out and donate today. You will be making a difference in someone’s life.

This is our new program for which we are collecting funds. Through this program we would like to provide non-perishable food to individuals who are homeless in partnership with homeless shelters to support the most marginalized individuals and seniors.  Volunteers and staff will be involved in packaging and distribution of food bags to at least 100 individuals once a week.

Non-perishable items will include: Granola and cereal bars, Trail mix, Ramon noodles, fruit cups, cookies, macaroni and cheese, fruit snacks, canned tuna, coconut water juice, packaged mixed nuts, crackers and snacks.

Soccer Equipment for Children

Ansaar Foundation’s help extends outside of Canadian communities as well! Ansaar Foundation partnered with community organizations Can Caribbean Relief, DISL and Masjid-e-Ayesha to collect and donate soccer equipment to the Caribbean. Soccer equipment included cleats, uniforms, shin pads, balls and other equipment. The generous donation enabled children in under-resourced Caribbean communities to experience sports and team building.

At this event, Ansaar Foundation also hosted a Food Drive for participants to donate nonperishables. Ansaar Foundation board members and volunteers then donated the collection to a local food bank. Ansaar Foundation thanks it’s partners and supporters for a successful event!
